Joe Biden takes on Trump after electoral college win
After getting a reassurance after the electoral college win, president-elect Joe Biden on Monday asked the country to ‘turn the page’ referring to his history-making victory which is further confirmed by the electoral college vote.
Now for those who suspected any malfunctioning in the vote count, this win has supposedly cleared the allegations. But what took people by surprise is the fact that this time, Bide seemed a little more aggressive than usual as he expressed his rare outrage on president Donald Trump.
While taking on Trump, he also lashed out at his allies for their refusal to accept his defeat and called this an ‘assault on democracy’. Following this announcement, the attorney general William Barr resigned from his post .
Barr is known to have not shared the same views as Trump on electoral fraud and several other matters and the distance between the two was supremely evident. But even though the sourness of their relationship was out in the open, Trump in his tweet suggested that the departure was an amicable one.
“Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Barr at the White House. Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job! As per letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family,” Trump tweeted.
The democratic leader has won 306 electoral college votes as the voters casted their voters in state capitals all around the country, the voting was done to the convenience of these voters as provision for virtual or in person vote was available. This is shocking for Trump since he refused to concede his defeat and suspected electoral fraud but so much for the allegations, the republian got only 232 votes.
“If anyone didn’t know it before, we know it now. What beats deep in the hearts of the American people is this — democracy… And so, now it is time to turn the page, to unite, to heal,” said Biden in his victory speech.

When it comes to the US elections, Biden has been patient towards Trump and tried to be decent about the election victory and gave the due time to Trump to concede defeat but all of the bottled up emotions flooded on Monday with the win.
