Saudi Arabia’s agent to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz container Mohamed Al-Wasel, has cautioned of the repercussions of “Iran’s atomic practices” and Israel’s non-promotion to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

“The risk of atomic weapons spread undermines the Middle East and the world,” he said, focusing on the need to “face atomic expansion in the Middle East”.

Dr. Al-Wasel thought that Israel’s non-increase to the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons “builds up the dangers of atomic multiplication”.

He further said that Iran’s practices upgrade the risks of atomic expansion, adding that freeing the Middle East of atomic weapons is an “aggregate liability”.

“Iran’s absence of straightforwardness with the IAEA abuses the UN Charter,” he said, focusing on the that “straightforwardness is essential for the quiet utilization of thermal power”.

The Saudi Envoy added that the Kingdom upholds extending the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
